Is CompTIA Cloud Certification Right for You?

Businesses are pursuing a cloud strategy for many reasons, such as cost savings, agility or enabling new business opportunities, and decision makers from various areas are likely to inquire about CompTIA’s cloud solutions.

Technical terms like virtualization, hosted application, middleware and service migration are often associated with cloud computing. Business phrases such as increased profitability, flexibility, and cost efficiency are equally associated with the cloud. Realizing the true meaning and benefit of any one of these is dependent on having trained and knowledgeable IT professionals.

The underlying technology of the cloud is pretty well known and covered through a variety of CompTIA and other organization’s certifications. However, what’s often missing from these curricula are the business and operational aspects of running a cloud. As cloud adoption increases, solution providers will need to know the business impact, process modifications and true potential outcomes of cloud implementations.

Cloud Essentials was CompTIA's only computing credential until October 2013, when CompTIA introduced the Cloud+ credential. The Cloud+ certifcation specifically targets more experienced cloud IT professionals (two to three years of experience is recommended) and validates both cloud computing and virtualization skills.
